The OMG-COMM8-A is a PC bus plug-in card based on the 16550 FIFO buffered UART, which is
compatible with the standard 8250.
This eight channel asynchronous
serial communication card utilizes
the RS-232 specification to provide
RS-232 communications capabilities
to your applications. Selectable and
sharable extended 'AT' interrupts
increase the OMG-COMM8
versatility. Signals are transmitted
and received via individual 25-pin
sub-D connector. Bit character
lengths of 5, 6, 7 or 8, and odd,
even or no parity are all available.
For those users creating their own
DOS based programs, the
OMG-COMM8 includes a serial
communication software driver
which provides fully buffered
interrupt driven input and output to
multiple asynchronous serial
communication ports. The driver is a
BIOS extension and/or replacement
that provides extended capabilities
in the form of block I/O and user
configurable flow control support in
addition to emulating standard BIOS
interrupt 14h calls. The Driver
supports C, C++ and BASIC.
